"The boss is loved in Ireland. He is an absolute legend from being a player and captain of the country to being the manager. He would be known by almost everyone, up there with Jack Charlton. He was Ireland's captain under Jack and the two of them are in an ad together for Carlsberg.

KEVIN DOYLE returned home on Monday night and 2,700 soccer supporters were in Ferrycarrig Park to greet him and Mick McCarthy's Wolves team.
The last time Kevin had played in Wexford was in October 2001, for Adamstown's Division 2A team against Ajax at Daphne View, Andy Doyle Close in Enniscorthy.
He has certainly moved onwards and upwards in the intervening eight years, but still values his Wexford connections as much as ever.

CHRIS Iwelumo insists he is "chomping at the bit" to get at Arsenal and prove to Mick McCarthy that he is a Premier League player.
The 31-year-old Scotland international finally made his top-flight bow at Stoke City last weekend after recovering from a broken metatarsal picked up in Australia in pre-season.
Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Andy Keogh are also vying for shirts against the Gunners, while Stefan Maierhofer is behind them in the pecking order but still in there waiting for his chance.

THE SUPERIOR class of Wolves eventually told against their brave hosts, but in truth the result mattered little as Wexford welcomed home local hero Kevin Doyle.
Although Doyle was only introduced for the final 22 minutes of the game, it was enough to warm up the large crowd on a chilly Monday night at Ferrycarrig Park.
However, it was fellow Irish international Andy Keogh who stole the limelight, scoring a sublime winning goal with 12 minutes remaining, neatly lifting the ball over goalkeeper Packie H

Wolves fans got to see their heroes close-up when the club held an open training session at Molineux.
Close to 1,000 people came through the turnstiles to see manager Mick McCarthy put his team through its paces in a two-hour session.
Armed with cameras and autograph books, fans clamoured to see their favourite players and get them to sign shirts, balls and albums.
It’s been fantastic today. It just shows what a brilliant family club Wolves is. Alan’s loved it. -John Parker
